From reading and following a recipe to measuring ingredients, practicing food safety, and coordinating each step, clear communication helps the kitchen run safely and successfully. This hands-on activity reinforces Tennessee Culinary Arts I standards related to food safety and sanitation, recipe comprehension, accurate measurement, and effective communication in a professional kitchen. Exploring Careers in Beauty & Style! Sandra Academy in Morristown visited GCTA to meet with students and share postsecondary training in cosmetology, barbering, and esthetics. Students learned how they can turn their creativity and passion into a Future Ready path!

#BuiltintheMiddle GMS learned more about high need, high skill CTE programs this week at GCTA. Students "scavenged" the building for clues on industry certifications, dual enrollment classes, and student leadership opportunities. Career transition begins early - GMS to GHS!

Skills are currency. Industry certifications prepare Greeneville students for the world beyond high school. Machine tool students are earning stackable certificates from #NIMS, NC3, and #HAAS.

Tasty Tuesday just got a whole new meaning! Our GCTA Culinary Arts students teamed up with the Army National Guard for an exciting MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) Challenge—and the results were incredible! Students took standard MRE components and transformed them into creative, flavorful dishes that looked (and tasted!) anything but ordinary. From innovative plating to bold flavor combinations, they proved that with skill and imagination, anything can become gourmet. Huge shoutout to our students for rising to the challenge and to our National Guard partner for bringing this unique experience to the classroom!
